A 10 OZ New York Steak and a Rickard's red for the meal and a glass of 12 year old Gibson's to finish. The Cornerstone pub has been going in some form or another on and off since 1899 in Moose Jaw. It is not only a land mark building on the corner of Main and Manitoba Streets, it's a wonderful place to hang out.
The steak was done to perfection. I asked for medium rare and got exactly that. The mashed spuds where even displayed well and actual mashed spud, not something out of a bag. The vegies where done to perfection and buttery good :) The steak was also butter fried BTW. Even the garlic toast was quite good.
The Rickard's was perfect with the steak and the Gibson's was a great sipping end to the meal.
The service was friendly and if I was a straight male, would have been better as she looked great in that slender black dress.
There was football on 1/2 the TV's and hockey on the other 1/2. The background music was not too loud, but the people in the pub where a bit. It is often the case that there is a lot of fun being had at this location. The new décor is not bad at all I think as they just renovated.
All in all it is a recommendable to visit and right next door to the tunnel tours in Moose Jaw. Why not do them both and enjoy the day. The price for a premium whiskey, a nice beer and an incredible steak was $39. I would have to say it's the best steak I have had in a long time. Defiantly the best in Moose Jaw.
I have spent more at the Spa and been way less impressed. I give this night out a 9 out of 10.
Peace - Dave.
